MASS SPECTROMETRY
The Micromass GCT is a compact, full integrated, high performance, orthogonal acceleration time of flight mass spectrometer designed for GC-MS and probe MS applications. GCT produces high quality, full mass spectra with elevated resolution (~ 7000 FWHM).
Several source options are available allowing analyses using different ionization techniques for a wide range of compounds. Source and probe assemblies may be selected for Electron Impact (EI), Chemical Ionisation (CI), Field Ionisation (FI) and Field desorption (FD).
The GCT coupled to a Gas Chromatograph allows the analysis of volatile and semivolatile compounds such as pesticides, aromas, PCBs, PAHs, endocrine disruptors. For this purpose EI, CI and FI could be used. The assembled system ion source is directly coupled to the GC inlet, enabling smooth transfer of eluent and minimising the possibility of cold spot.
MS probe is used for the direct analysis by MS of a pure compound. All compounds with MW < 1500 Da that are volatile and thermally stables, can be analyzed by probe. In this case, the four ionization MS modes are allowed.
The laboratory has also a Gas Chromatograph with a flame ionization detector (GC-FID), model HRGC 400 from KONI, which serves to support the GC-MS and meet the majority of applications in GC.
TABLE OF PRICES

- Prices excluding VAT
- In tests with probe, except for FD, if time of analysis is more than 30 minutes, the price of the analysis will be increased by 40%
- Will be held a 5% discount, if 8 or more samples are delivered at thge time for the same type of analysis.
NOTE: Prices for urgent requests will be multiplied by 3.
Request for services
There is a request for each equipment that must be completed and signed by the person responsible. The tests are performed in order of entry into the service. Please contact the laboratory technician to confirm the deliverability of the results. In the case of trials of longer duration and depending on the number of samples, the time is agreed with the applicant.
Only the technician can use the device, however it is allowed direct contact with the various equipment, through a brief theoretical accompanied by a practical demonstration, if so requested.
