AWARDS 

• The award for the best poster in RRB-5 (International Conference on Renewable Ressources and Biorefineries) was attributred to a Requimte team: Luísa S. Serafim, Daniele Contu, Inês Farinha, Joana Pais, Paulo C. Lemos e Maria A.M. Reis, with the work: Bioplastics production from cheese whey by /Haloferax mediterranei
• The SHIC'08 Award was attributed to 2 Requimte Projects:
  - "Production of a new biodegradable biopolimer using glicerol" by Maria d'Ascensão Reis, Maria Filomena Freitas, Vítor Alves and Rui Oliveira.
  - "Inteligent Porous Particles: a new alternativfe for controled release in lungs" by Ana Aguiar Ricardo, Teresa Casimiro, Eunice Costa, Telma Barroso, Milton Temtem. 
• ION JELLY® - A Requimte project by the group of Susana Barreiros wins the Concurso Nacional de Inovação BES in the Energy area and also the second place on the Idea to Product (I2P) Competition (Cockrell School of Engineering Chalenge). 
• The Award Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian Estímulo à Investigação was won by the Requimte researcher Elisabete de Jesus Oliveira. 
• IACT Junior Award 2007' by the International Association of Chemical Thermodynamics.was won by Rafal Bogel-Lukasik.

•  3^rd Renewable Resources and Biorefineries Best Poster Award.

• The Universidade Técnica de Lisboa has attributed an Honoris Causa to the Requimte Researcher Hugo Gil Ferreira. The ceremony will be held at Salão Nobre do Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, on the 16^th February.
