"ABC of Career Management for young researchers" workshop - targeted to late PhD students, young post-docs and staff researchers.
The focus of this mini-workshop series is to empower researchers from different fields to obtain successful funding application as well as give tools for career orienteering. The goal of the “ABC of Career Management for young researchers” session is to support and motivate researchers to find strategies in order to build a solid and successful career. This will be a hands-on session taking place on May 30th & 31st with the participation of Sarah Blackford, a qualified academic career specialist (MA, Warwick University) that provides a wide range of career advisory to doctoral students and early career researchers. We will also have invited speakers at different stages of their career to discuss career management.
The workshop includes a social dinner and joint together on May 30th. We aim at providing a pleasant atmosphere where new collaborations might arise.
The workshop will consist of 2 parts (please see the full program here):
Part 1. Tuesday 30th May (14.00 - 18.00 & Dinner) & Wednesday 31st May (9.30 - 12.30)
Consists of a practical course focused on PLANNING AND MANAGING YOUR CAREER that will include presentations and interactive exercises with opportunities for individual reflection and action planning.
Part 2. Wednesday 31st May (14.00 - 17.00)
Session “ABC of Career Management for young researchers” with various seminars, including:

In the end, we will have a round table with the speakers and Maria João Romão (UCIBIO, FCT NOVA) and Manuel Nunes da Ponte (LAQV, FCT NOVA).
