Isabel Sá Nogueira elected president of the Portuguese Society of Genetics

Isabel Sá Nogueira, integrated member of UCIBIO at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia (FCT-NOVA), has been elected president of the Portuguese Society of Genetics for a period of three years (2015-2018). The Portuguese Society of Genetics (SPG) was established in 1973 to promote the development and diffusion of genetics in Portugal.

Isabel Sá Nogueira, Associate Professor at FCT, is the head of the Microbial Genetics Lab and her research is primarily focused on the mechanisms that control gene expression of carbohydrate metabolism in bacteria.
