Research Interests
The present research is focused on the ecology and evolution of antimicrobial-resistant Enterococcus from different origins, and the characterization of particular ecotypes with special emphasis on the factors involved in the selection, dissemination and evolution of antibiotic resistance genes, plasmids and clonal complexes. Current research interests include the identification of risk factors involved in the emergence and amplification of high-risk enterococcal clones from different origins (humans, food products, animals and environment).
